Dr. Pradeep Desai, a Pathologist and Scientist, establishes Desai Laboratories in small town of Surat in western India. As a passionate scientist, he starts manufacturing reagents for laboratory use for in vitro diagnostics.

Span Diagnostics was established to cater to the increasing demand of quality reagents.

Span Diagnostics expanded further and moved to larger facility at Udhna, a twin town of Surat.

A second, modern state-of-the-art world class facility with a built up area of 151,700 sq.ft was established at Sachin near Surat to manufacture IVD Equipments, Clinical chemistry reagents and kits, Immunodiagnostic reagents and kits. The facility is equipped with a modern animal house, Sterile manufacturing area, warehouse with ambient as well as cold room storage facility. The facility became the first WHO, Geneva approved facility to manufacture HIV and Malaria kits in india.

Span Diagnostics becomes the first Indian IVD company to be listed on Bombay Stock Exchange.

Span Diagnostics joined hands with Nihon Kohden, Japan's leading manufacturer, developer and distributor of medical electronic equipments.

Arkray Inc., Japan, a leading healthcare company acquires the Indian IVD business of Span Diagnostics Ltd.

Span Diagnostics Ltd. rechristiened as Span Divergent Ltd. diversifies into two Verticals - Healthcare & Lifescience (HCLS), Food and Agriculture (FAB). Establishes four companies - BioSpan Scientific LLP, Span Diagnostics Products LLP, Dry Fruit Factory LLP, Aranya Agri Biotech.
